Like the new 1984 Plymouth, Dodge, and Matra/Renault, it had a four cylinder engine and a manual transmission with an optional automatic; but it was unique in having rear wheel drive, a mid-engined design, and an optional four-speed (rather than three-speed) automatic transmission. It was sold here from 1984 through 1989 and in two different forms; things kicked off with a passenger version for 1984, while a cargo model joined for 1985.
