Oberon Dam has a capacity of 45,000 megalitres, making it a medium size but important water storage because of its role in the Fish River water supply scheme. The natural beauty of the Oberon district provides many perfect locations for a memorable camping getaway. There are many great campsites across the Oberon area ranging from remote bushland spots in any of the area's three fantastic National Parks to the more formalised town caravan park with all the appropriate facilities. Approx 2klm from Oberon township with approx. 20 picturesque bush camping sites with designated fire rings, toilets, BBQ and undercover picnic tables. On this adventure, we stayed at the Reef Reserve in Oberon. Sitting on the banks of the Oberon Dam, and only 5 minutes out of town, it makes for a great geta.
