For over 40 years, hundreds of volunteers and staff have supported the dogs at the Haven. Some have since passed away and others continue to work in the animal welfare sector today. THE Swan River is set to go to the dogs next weekend for the Swan Animal Haven dog walk. Up to 100 people and pooches will join Sunday's 10km walk from the Narrows Bridge to the Causeway to raise funds for the haven, which shelters found and abandoned pets until they can be rehomed.

The Swan Animal Haven was established in 1980 and has been at its current location on Kalamunda Road in South Guildford since 1988. The five-acre property close to the airport is largely run by volunteers and currently houses about 50 dogs. The Swan Animal Haven rescues and cares for abandoned dogs until compassionate homes can be found. We advocate the sterilisation of ALL dogs and hope that one day we will not need to be here. We are a charitable organisation, with a large and essential volunteer contribution. We are funded by donations, bequests and other fund-raising.
