Western Australia's botanical gardens, national parks, coastal plains and towering forests provide the backdrop for even more wildflower hotspots. Spot lemon-yellow donkey orchids, or the rare Queen of Sheba orchid, fiery-red grevilleas, hot-pink hakeas, golden wattle and more. Western Australia's wildflower season begins in June and lasts for six months. We know there are some 12,500 flowering species in WA, 60 per cent of which are endemic to the state - and 775,000 visitors each year flock to take a gander at these blooms. The Wildflower Season usually starts in Western Australia's northwest and in June and July. As the weather warms up and the winter rains recede, the landscapes across Western Australia come alive with a stunning array of wildflowers. Flowers continue to bloom southwards from around August. 2023 has been very dry! This will affect the wildflowers, especially the annuals, like everlastings.
