Description Waypoints This is an excellent walk through dense bushland parallel to the Cataract Gorge. The trail has historical significance and connects the Kings Bridge to the First Basin. The track consists of a series of zig-zags that ascend high above the Cataract Gorge Reserve. Zig Zag Reserve & Lookout I approached this from the Basin end first, which took care of the steepest steps at the beginning, getting you onto the high path, a nice lookout, then an easier desend to Kings Bridge. Getting to the Cataract Gorge The walking trail starts just a short walk from town. On the western edge of the Launceston township is Kings Bridge, which just next to Royal Park. It's only about a 1.5 km walk from the main shopping area. Once you get to Kings Bridge, cross over it and begin the Cataract Walk from the other side.
