Canada Day celebration and fireworks Thank you to everyone who joined in on the festivities and celebrations this July 1! We hope to see you again next year. Watch this space for next year's Canada Day line up! What do you need to know for Airdrie's Canada Day? With Canada Day about to have Airdronians celebrating all weekend, here is what you need to know for the festive day. You can say things might be getting back to normal as this Canada Day will be a busy one with a parade and fireworks show. Airdrie Parades has officially announced the Canada Day Parade route for Saturday, July 1. Road closures and detours are expected as per the route. According to the Airdrie Parades website, road closures will begin the evening before, on June 30 at 7 p.m. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes. The Town of Irricana has announced that on Canada Day, the evening celebrations will include a family and free event beginning at 7 p.m. till 10 p.m. which will include a live DJ at the Lions Community Hall. Children will also have their chance to get face painting done at the hall.

On July 1, residents and visitors alike are invited to come out for a day of Canada Day fun. The annual Airdrie Canada Day Parade will kick off at 10 a.m., with the procession of floats moving down Main Street and then heading up Allen Street. The Airdrie Pro Rodeo will also be happening that weekend, providing spectators with plenty of bucking. Airdrie events a-plenty. For residents in the northern part of the county, Airdrie will be great place to gather on July 1, with a day full of events to celebrate Canada Day. From 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., there will be a pancake breakfast located at the Safeway parking lot just off Airdrie's Main Street. The breakfast will be hosted by the non-profit.
