Starting at 11 pm, the 'big pour at Ching Park' saw 3 million pounds of concrete poured continuously by 57 people using three pump trucks, nine power trowels and 58 truckloads of concrete. The Chinguacousy Park Skating Trail and Fountain is a vibrant, year round, 2025 M2 outdoor refrigerated skating rink and summertime reflecting pool addition offering a significant new dynamic to the City of Brampton's 100 acre downtown park. Ching Park is over 100 acres in size and offers a full day of family entertainment. Ching Park means "Young Pine River" and was named after Donald M Gordon who was instrumental in bringing recreation programming to Brampton. Chinguacousy Park offers outdoor entertainment for all seasons for all ages, and is the Best Park in Brampton.

The trail at Gage Park opened last week. As of last year, the Chinguacousy trail was the newest outdoor rink in Brampton, but this year it will be dethroned with the opening of the new covered rink at Gore Meadows. Of course the irregular canal-shaped rink with its 2000 sq. ft. of ice will still remain a favourite. Construction is underway on a new skating trail set to open at Chinguacousy Park in the fall. During the winter months the canal-style trail will be open for skating. It will even be equipped with winter seating and warming areas. Everyone loves a great winter skate at Gage Park, and it'll be even better at Chinguacousy with the extra amenities.
