What is a Church Rummage Sale? It is a sale which takes place in a church in which oodles of items are piled on tabletops and you "rummage" or go through all of it in hopes to find a bargain! A church rummage sale is a fundraising event where churches sell donated items like clothing, books, toys, shoes, and home goods at low prices.
