Step 1. In a food processor blend together the flour, the sugar, the butter, and the salt, pulsing the motor, until the mixture resembles coarse meal, add the egg, and blend the mixture until it. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line the bottom and sides of a 9-by-13-inch baking pan with aluminum foil. In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat 1 stick room-temperature butter, brown sugar, flour, and salt until coarse crumbs form. Pour mixture into prepared pan; press firmly into bottom. Bake until lightly browned, 25 to 30 minutes.
Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars. Crust: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/3 cup sugar. 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) vegan butter, melted. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/4 teaspoon salt. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
