The park is nearly surrounded by the 115-year-old Douglas Lake Ranch, Canada's largest cattle ranch. Geography The park is 190 hectares in size.

Kentucky-Alleyne Provincial Park is about a 3.5 hour drive from the city of Vancouver. Considering we were expecting it to be a bit of a hidden gem, it was surprisingly busy with lots of campers and day-trippers. However, with 58 sites, it isn't huge compared to the likes of Dinosaur Provincial Park in Alberta, which has over 120. Kentucky-Alleyne Provincial Park is located just off Highway 5A between Merritt and Princeton. Surrounded by rolling ranch land, Kentucky-Alleyne boasts two sparkling turquoise lakes that draw anglers from near and far. This is how my family ended up there.
