Nahatlatch Park is characterized by scenic mountain peaks and glaciers, old growth forests, and a unique lake and river system. This park protects one of the largest intact wetlands remaining in the Lower Mainland. A series of small streams flow into, out of, and between the three lakes in the park named Frances, Hannah, and Nahatlatch. A couple of wilderness BC Parks in the Fraser Canyon region that can be explored in a long day trip are Nahatlatch Provincial Park and Mehatl Creek Provincial Park. This trip involves a long, scenic drive out a bumpy dirt road west of Boston Bar to see two beautiful waterfalls, one of which includes an 8km roundtrip hike. Nahatlatch Provincial Park - British Columbia Travel and Adventure Vacations The park, 1,695 hectares of undeveloped wilderness, is tucked in between Harrison Lake and the Fraser Canyon. The park's main attraction is the Nahatlatch The BC government have given the duties of looking after the park to the local native band. There is no service. No useable pit toilets, no water. We took our tents to the lakeside and found plenty of room in the gladed forest area. The views were fantastic. There is a beach that id sandy where you can swim in the clear glacial lake water.

It originates in the Lillooet Ranges of the Coast Mountains and empties into the Fraser River in the Fraser Canyon, north of Boston Bar. [3] Course The Nahatlatch's River originates in the Lillooet Ranges. Mehatl Falls Trail starts from the west end of Nahatlatch Lake Provincial Park, taking you along the creek into Mehatl Creek Provincial Park. The trailhead is identified by a large open space on the right side of the forestry road, directly before the Nahatlatch River is crossed. The lower and upper falls are very different and both beautiful. The trail is well-maintained considering it's out.
Nahatlatch Lake is a pristine mountain lake located in the heart of British Columbia's rugged Interior. Fed by glaciers and snowmelt, the clear, cold water is a haven for trout and other fish. The surrounding forest provides shelter for black bears, deer, and other wildlife. Nahatlatch Forest Service Road (formerly Nahatlatch River FSR) starts at the end of Chaumox Road, approximately 12 kilometers from Highway 1 turnoff in Boston Bar. It is a fine road, leading to numerous fee-based recreation sites, several picturesque lakes, and a hike to a neat waterfall. There are good mountain views along the way too.
