This is the homeland of the Neskonlith, Little Shuswap, Adams Lake and the Splatsin (Spallumcheen) First Nations. The Shuswap Trail Alliance exists as a collaboration of partners working together to create purpose built, sanctioned and sustainable trails throughout the Shuswap region. The Alliance motto is, "Well-designed, well-signed, well-maintained, well-promoted".

The Shuswap Trail Alliance plays a supportive and administrative role for this project, under the direction and leadership of the four local Secwépemc communities (Adams Lake Band, Neskonlith Band, Splatsin, and Little Shuswap Lake Band). The full Shuswap Trail Strategy, first presented in November 2006, proposed an ambitious 5-year development strategy that would link existing trail plans throughout the Shuswap watershed into a unified message of active communities, ecological commitment, and welcome. 50/50 pot is at $6700 (WOW). In just 15 years, the Shuswap Trail Alliance has grown from a small group of volunteers to become one of the most important organizations in our community that has worked with local partners to raise nearly $5.5-million of grants, donations and in-kind services for constructing 143 kilometres of new trails. The Junior Trail Camp is fast approaching for young people interested in learning how multipurpose recreational trails are built, approved and maintained.
