The map above is a political map of the world centered on Europe and Africa. It shows the location of most of the world's countries and includes their names where space allows. Representing a round earth on a flat map requires some distortion of the geographic features no matter how the map is done. Moll's map covers all of the West Indies, eastern Mexico, all of Central America, the Gulf of Mexico, North America as far as the Chesapeake Bay, and the northern portion of South America, commonly called the Spanish Main. Typical of Moll's style, this map offers a wealth of information including ocean currents and some very interesting commentary.
