Anna-Eva Bergman (29 May 1909 - 24 July 1987) was a Norwegian abstract expressionist artist. She was a modernist artist and part of the School of Paris. Her abstract paintings were often inspired by nature and based on abstracted motifs. [1] [2] Biography Bergman was born in Stockholm, Sweden as the child of a Swedish father and a Norwegian mother. Born in Sweden in 1909 and raised in Norway, Anna-Eva Bergman exhibited regularly in Paris during the 1960s and 1970s, including a 1977 retrospective at Musée d'Art moderne de la Ville de Paris. Yet since her death in 1987, her sparkling art has received scant attention. Anna-Eva Bergman did not quite achieve the remarkable international renown of Richier or Vieira da Silva, but Anna-Eva Bergman: voyage vers l'intérieur amply fills the large temporary exhibition rooms at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris. Unlike the other two artists in this review, Bergman hardly achieved any recognition at all in the interwar years, when her work mostly comprised.
