Auf dem Bild werden in der Tradition des Bildtypus Anna selbdritt drei Generationen dargestellt: die heilige Anna, die Jungfrau Maria und ihr Sohn, der Jesusknabe. Das Bild ist in Teilen der Landschaft und - besonders deutlich erkennbar am Mantel Marias - nicht. Anna selbdritt ist das letzte großformatige Gemälde Leonardo da Vincis. Das Gemälde wird auf 1502-1519 datiert und befindet sich heute im Pariser Louvre. Es zeigt die Jungfrau Maria, die auf dem Schoß ihrer Mutter Anna sitzt und nach Jesus greift, der mit einem Lamm spielt. Selbdritt ist eine veraltete Bezeichnung für 'zu dritt (dargestellt)'.
