(Michael Anschuetz photo) July 18, 2022 By Keith Wood A few years ago, Detroit's automakers set their sights on re-creating the great muscle cars of the 1960s and '70s. FN America has very successfully re-booted the franchise with the new High Power, at least in this writer's opinion. If you can carry a full-size 1911, you can tote a High Power and get twice.

FN High Power 9mm caliber pistol for sale.
Because that's exactly what the new FN High Power is, a modern High Power duty gun. The whole gun is bigger. At 40 oz., the new FN High Power is almost half a pound heavier than my EDC Hi Power Mark I, but just 1/2″ longer and taller. The slide is slightly thicker, and the frame itself is simply more massive throughout. The new FN High Power is a single-action-only, steel frame, double-stack handgun with manual safety. That is pretty much where the similarities end with the original Hi-Power however. (Photo courtesy of FN America) For me, this handgun feels almost like a "hodge-podge" at best, when viewing it as a "High Power".
