Kathy N 673 0 Hi, Roy, Not 100% sure on this but I would think right before/at bud break in spring. On a side note, I've heard it's best to grow Pyracantha as an upright specimen, rather than a raft. Pyracantha is an evergreen, thorny shrub, also known as Firethorn. Useful as a hedging plant it has white flowers in Spring, followed by very colourful berries - yellow, orange or red - that give the shrub its common name of Firethorn. The berries provide colour all through Winter - if not eaten by birds!
