What can be done We are proud to support tape artists globally. Find out more about tape artists and the work they are creating here. Tape painting originally arose in the 1960s as a type of urban art that served as an alternative to spray can graffiti. When art tape is applied to plastic or glass and illuminated from behind, it can create an effect comparable to stained glass. We produce a wide spectrum of free artworks that includes regular taped paintings, room installations and sculptures, murals or facades and light installations. Besides live tape art performances at events and fairs, our commissioned projects also consist of location styling and interior design for event locations, fair stands and offices. Characteristics Tape art can be installed quickly and almost silently, making it suitable for small or temporary urban art projects. No masking or covering is necessary. Tape is relatively easy to handle, and can be applied to various surfaces, such as stone, asphalt, wood, aluminum, sandwich panels or glass. TAPE ART We create artworks made solely out of adhesive tape - tapes of all colors, sizes and materials. Our artworks range from room-filling installations to abstract structures combined with light projections and classical tape art murals - we strive to push the boundaries of what most people perceive possible to do with ordinary tape. To create colored lines within your tape painting art, cover the whole canvas with a single color of acrylic paint or craft paint. Allow the paint to fully dry. This base layer of paint will create the colored lines within your art. For example, if you use green acrylic paint, your art will have green lines in between the geometric shapes. Print out two or three color variations to use for cutting, referencing, and separation. Lay down the base colors. Stick white duct tape on a piece of card. Start from the center, and work the sides. Trim the sides with the cutter. Repeat the process with the next color and lay the tape at a 90° angle.
