HONDA CB 750 FOUR una delle più belle di sempre

The Best Years of V-Four Racing. The motorcycling industry considered the 12-year production run of the Honda VFR750 as the best years of the VFR series. And it's all thanks to the standards the 1986 Honda VFR 750 Interceptor had set. The late-'80s motorcycle was ground-breaking, to say the least - with its fully-faired styling, bucket. 3. Honda NR750 [1992] In many ways the NR750 was not only the ultimate Honda V4, it was the most exotic motorcycle of all - ever. Most of us know the story - it being a short-run, hand-built, no expense-spared road-going 'celebration' bike to mark the end of Honda's brilliant but flawed, oval-piston V4 racing project.

1983 Honda VF750F Interceptor. The first all-out sporting V-4 was the original VF750F Interceptor, in 1983. This model used the same basic V45 engine from the original Sabre and Magna, but with. The V-4 engine is the beating heart that powered Honda to three decades of racing glory. The line of storied V-4 Hondas stretches from the Interceptor and VFR production motorcycles to the RC30 and RC45 homologation-spec superbikes to the V-5 and V-4 RC grand prix racers. Yet the engine that would become an emblem of its corporate pride did not. The first three or four iterations of VFR motorcycles re-established Honda's reputation for quality, and the motorcycles received almost universal praise from journalists and riders alike. The VFR was originally a 750 cc, but became an 800 cc in due course. New models featured technological innovation, such as a single-sided swingarm, linked. However, the fertile mind of Mr. Honda had more ideas, and he felt that a V-4 would be the ideal sporting engine. Clean sheet of paper, a few million yen, total secrecy…and the project zoomed ahead.

The Honda VF750F is a street bike designed by Honda from 1983 to 1985. It has an 86 hp (64 kW), liquid-cooled , V4 engine which sports dual overhead cams (DOHC). The V4's were started a year before with the 1982 Honda Magna VF750C and Sabre VF750S [2] but were adapted for the VF750F in 1983 by reducing the six speed transmission to a five speed because of the change from shaft drive to chain. From '88-on they became 17-inchers, but all pre-1990 bikes have narrow rims (2.5'' front 3.5'' rear) which limits tyre choice. Later models have wider rims that accept more desirable radial tyres. Despite a slight improvement in the 1990 bike, the front brakes remained a little weak on all VFR750s. The Honda 750 Magna has a liquid-cooled 748CC V4 engine with cylinders 90 degrees apart (like a Ducati's L configuration), each with its own Keihin 34mm carburettor. The engine breathes through four valves per cylinder operated by overhead cams.. Great line up of v 4 bikes. I just happen to own one- Honda Magna vf750 c and l love it! Mine. Other differences between old and new VFRs include bigger valves, larger carbs and a 4-into-1 exhaust. The new engine still uses an efficient gear-type cam drive, and retains its 180-degree crankshaft instead of the 360-degree crank found in every other Honda V-Four. including the RC30 and new STI 100.

Like the original 750 Sabre and VF 750, this 750 Magna engine uses a 360-degree crankshaft and chain-driven double-overhead camshafts. Thus, the VF750C unit is technologically quite different from Honda's last V-four sport bike engine, the VFR750 Interceptor, which had gear-driven overhead cams and a 180-degree crankshaft. The first Honda V4 engine, introduced in 1982 in a 750 cc (45 inc) capacity, was widely regarded as a milestone of motorcycle engineering. Its 90° V configuration allowed for a lighter engine which was more compact, yet more powerful than any previous Honda 750 cc engine. Because of the inherent balancing characteristics of a V-engine, as well. CYCLE CANADA MAGAZINE - 1987 HONDA CBR1000F. Saint Thomas. 1 month ago. With the new Magna 750, an early-release 1994 model, Honda kept all of those ingredients in mind. Then added a full dose of performance. The Magna combines traditional cruiser styling with a potent 90-degree, 748cc V-Four sourced from the VFR750 sportbike.
