The Praza do Toural in Santiago de Compostela is located at the beginning of the old city between Rua do Vilar and Rua Nova. It's not the biggest or most impressive square in Santiago, but it's a popular meeting point for the locals and it does have some beautiful baroque buildings. Plaza del Toural is a landmark in the city's monumental area. In the middle of it stands a stone fountain built in 1822. However, the most famous building here is Pazo de Bendaña, a magnificent baroque palace that houses a museum dedicated to the the surrealist painter, Eugenio Granell. This square has become a regular meeting point for all kinds of political acts and demonstrations, as well. The Eugenio Granell Foundation museum is located in the Pazo de Bendaña, one of the most emblematic buildings of Santiago - and an example of civil architecture from the mid-18th century. The building designed by Vivente Sarela is located in Praza do Toural and represent the Baroque architecture of Santiago. The façade displays the coat of arms of Bendaña marquisate.
