'Pinky Winky' is a panicle hydrangea (the flowers are triangular rather than round); the blooms can potentially grow from 12" - 16" in length (but I think that the very large panicles would be on a very mature plant); it is bi-coloured (pink and white); it will thrive in our growing area (the plant is hardy from zones 3-8); it seems to be deligh. Pinky Winky has an unusual name, and an even more unusual flower. The large white panicles open in mid to late summer, and as summer turns to fall the florets at the base of the panicles turn pink. Planting time: Spring & Early Fall. Growth: Upright. Watering: Daily for first three weeks after planting. Every 3 to 4 days after. Plant Spacing:6-8'.
