Listed as a Historical Monument in 1889, the menhir is located a hundred meters from the coast, in the center of the seaside resort which merged in 2017 with Plounéour-Trez to become Plounéour-Brignogan-plages. Le menhir de Pontusval, souvent improprement appelé "Men Marz", est un menhir christianisé situé sur la commune de Brignogan-Plages, dans le département français du Finistère.

Le menhir de Men Marz. Avec ses 8,50 mètres de hauteur et sa masse de l'ordre de 80 tonnes, il fait partie des quatre menhirs les plus hauts de France et est classé monument historique. Il fait partie des nombreux menhirs christianisés. Men-Marz (the Miracle Stone in Breton) or Men-Bras (Grand Stone) is now set in a nice little area, a previously close built house having been bought and demolished by the state, and it has a good information centre across the road with lots of informative boards.
