Nice area. Dec 2023 • Family. Elizabeth Square is a wonderful square that's famous for being the home of the Budapest Ferris Wheel. The Square is mostly concrete with some grassed area's ,there's statue's, a few water features and around the square are some great pubs,bars, cafe's and restaurants, if you're planning a holiday to Budapest its. Elisabeth Square, one of the largest green spaces in central Pest, was expanded in the early 2000s and now borders busy Déak Ferenc Square. The square's most interesting sight is the monumental Danube Fountain. Elisabeth Square. The square consists of two very different areas. The west part of the square has a history that goes back many. Elizabeth Square Budapest (Erzsébet tér in Hungarian) sits in central Pest, right in the heart of downtown Budapest. With plenty of attractions nearby, and easy access to public transit, it's one of the most convenient areas to stay in Budapest. The two significant historic things in the square are; the old bus station and the Danubius Fountain, designed by Miklós Ybl. The Eye of Budapest wheel is located here and one of the best times to see it is in the night when it is illuminated. Plenty of food outlets and kiosks and a small park for children to play nearby. It's a vibrant, lively square with cafes, a grassy expanse, a large reflecting pool and site of the Budapest Eye Ferris wheel.
