James Cook is just weird. It is not bad but just something is missing. Even Cuba libre version feels not complete. The back is even less inspiring: "James Cook captivates with its rich aroma and amber-coloured hue. Its composition of fine rum from overseas lends it a harmonious, mild flavour. This genuine overseas dark rum tastes best in a grog or tea". Bottled in Germany, produce of more than one country. I only took a punt based on the price - glad I did!

James Cook Rum (Lidl UK) Hi all, My staple drinking/session rum is the above James cook medium rum. Shock horror! But this rum is cheap and it tastes better than most other rums from supermarkets or retail. I prefer rums at £35 and above but I can't drink those every weekend, so James Cook it is! James Cook is a 40% dark rum available from Lidl for £10.99, making it quite cheap for a normal strength rum. I've drank a lot of this in the past and while I don't remember much about it other than it being drinkable, I do remember it being pure grade esophagus stripper. On with the review then. Perhaps one of Lidl's finest.
