Kerbal Space Program rocket scientist's cheat sheet: Delta-v maps, equations and more for your reference so you can get from here to there and back again. Contents. 1 Mathematics. 1.1 Thrust-to-weight ratio (TWR) 1.2 Specific Impulse (I sp) 1.3 Delta-v (Δv) 1.3.1 Basic calculation; 1. Pick a planetoid you wish to visit. 2. From your initial position, add up the numbers between every checkpoint until you reach your desired checkpoint. 3. The total is the general Delta-V value needed to reach your destination. Example: - Kerbin surface -> Duna Surface. 3400+950+130+10 +250+360+1450 = 6550*.

KSP Delta-V Planner is a tool to calculate your rocket Delta-V for interplanetary travels in Kerbal Space Program. Also known as KSP Delta-V Calculator.. 610 km 6000 Kerbal Space Program Δ v Map 67k 610 km Pol 6600 820 160 700 130 10 km Bop 6840 230 900 220 2440 30 km Tylo 9260 1100 400 2270 10 km Vall 7880 860 910 620 15 km Laythe 10390 2. This is where the ksp delta v map comes in. The KSP delta v chart is essential for approximating the delta v required to successfully complete a mission. With a simple glance, it allows you to know the energy cost of each stage of the journey. In conclusion, the KSP delta v map is a crucial resource for carrying out missions of moderate to high. KERBAL SPACE PROGRAM DELTA-V RESULTS. KSP Delta-V Planner calculates the Delta-V for your next mission. Any orbit within the SOI and greater than the low orbit can be used if the departure and arrival planet are the same. 4711 m/s. **Planner values can be reduced to 0 by aerobreaking, so they are not included in the final result. Pick a planetoid you wish to visit. From your initial position, add up the numbers between every checkpoint until you reach your desired checkpoint I would suggest an actual change in the format of the delta v map. You could cut off the bottom part with kerbin and put it on the right side with a longer line leading to the rest of the original map. 5 hours ago, plague006 said: I scaled the image to match the height of KSPedia entries because I'm not a fan of scrolling images. update to the question: if I try to achieve orbit at 10K alt after burning straight up to get the apoapsis there it would take a further 400 m/s to achieve it. if I try a 45 degree angle I get the best result, while if I try to go flat near instantly after launch I barely get anywhere. I think at this point I have mis-understood the deltaV map.

For planets without and atmosphere, the delta-v needed for a soft powered landing is the same as for the ascent, whereas its greatly reduced for planets with an atmosphere, as it will do a great deal of breaking (apart lol) your spacecraft, and it'll reach terminal velocity eventually. Link To the Map: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/42362-A-Delta-V-Map-of-the-Kerbin-SystemThird tutorial in a long series. We will be expla.
How to use: start at Kerbin on the bottom, pick a planet/moon to go to, add up the delta-v's along the nodes to find the needed delta-v. This map assumes using the Oberth effect, so the delta-v's along the vertical starting from Kerbin are burned at Kerbin periapsis (except for Kerbol). The line on the left should burn towards Kerbin's. Even for a relatively bad transfer, it should only take a few hundred m/s of delta-v. If you leave Kerbin and arrive at Eve at right around the points where their orbital planes intersect, you don't have to do much of a mid-flight adjustment. #1. warhawk373 Jan 12, 2022 @ 6:35pm. The 12000 m/s is the delta-v to get back into orbit (from sea level). HanzsKlopek. • 9 yr. ago. Landing on Eve can be done using parachutes. Lifting off and reaching Eve orbit will take you 12k deltaV. Most of the times going to Eve is a one way trip.
