Located at the east-side of Langkawi Island and about 20 minutes from Kuah Town, Kilim Geoforest Park is home to a sprawling mangrove forest and ancient gigantic limestone rocks formations rising from the river bed, formed some 500 million years back. Kilim Geoforest Park (or Kilim Karst Geoforest Park as its full name) is one of the three geoforest parks associated with the Langkawi Geopark. The other two are the Machinchang Cambrian Geoforest Park and The Dayang Bunting Marble Geoforest Park.

About Langkawi Naturally Langkawi

The Kilim Geoforest Park is made of three river estuaries that are interconnected and surrounded by beautiful green mangroves, caves of varying sizes and interest and ancient karst rock formations some of which have small beaches. The park borders the Andaman Sea, a stretch of sea that is shared with Thailand's famous Phuket and Phi Phi. Although Kilim Geoforest Park officially closes at 5 pm, you can stay inside the grounds for longer than that. We got here at 4:45 pm and could freely walk around the Mangrove Sanctuary and the park until we left at 6 pm.
