Bionicle started in the year 2000 or 2001 depending on where in the world you live. It was one of Legos first story themes and a predecessor of themes like Ninjago, Hero Factory or Nexo Knights.

As expected, the five mini-contests - each of which offers its own 90th-anniversary prize haul - have now covered each and every one of the four finalists in last year's LEGO Ideas poll, which was used to. The LEGO Ideas project The Legend of the BIONICLE: Celebrating 20 years of Lego stories by Sokoda has now achieved the coveted number of supporters to be brought into the review stage. Each Toa has powers that correspond to an element: fire, water, ice, earth, air, and stone. They also use special Kahoni masks to unleash their supplemental powers, such as super-speed or levitation. Six heroes, one destiny. That idea would run throughout the BIONICLE theme, one of the LEGO Group's most successful (and ambitious) product lines. While it took us pretty far from the conventional LEGO set, BIONICLE earned thousands of fans and was a bright spot of many a childhood. BIONICLE set out to be a "constraction" line—construction + action—and in that spirit this ingenious model offers highly-accurate details, stable joints for dynamic posing, and a building experience like no other.
Just two weeks ago, LEGO Ideas allowed fans to vote for a classic theme to be revived for the LEGO 90th Anniversary Set. The results are now out and phase 2 begins. Bionicle, Classic Space and. The people have spoke, and Bionicles was the most-voted theme in the first round of the LEGO Ideas 90th Anniversary fan vote, moving into the final round with a considerable lead and advantage over Classic Space, Castle and Pirates.

The BrickLink Designer Program is granting a second chance to a select few LEGO Ideas projects, but unfortunately, none of them can be based around existing licenses.
