When Mercedes-Benz introduced the W124 Sedan, AMG began their meticulous tuning process to create a range of high performance variants. AMG offered various tuning packages for W124 cars, with the most well known being the V8 powered variants derived from the 500E. The W124 was the first Mercedes series to be fitted with the iconic 15-hole, flat-faced alloy wheels characteristic of Mercedes-Benz cars of the 1980s and 1990s.
