Monson created the 1,600th stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, and announced a temple would be built in the Toronto area. In October of the following year, President Monson returned for the groundbreaking of the Toronto Ontario Temple.
