In 1886 in a new factory was started production of stove tiles. In 1893, Zsolnay introduced porcelain pieces made of eosin. In 1900 the company was taken over by Vilmos' son, Miklos. Zsolnay frost-resisting architectural decorations were especially popular during art nouveau period. Most Zsolnay is marked with an series of numbers (usually 3 or 4) which related to a form book design. That number is a chronological number relating to a production date. Example: an incised form number 782 indicated a production between 1873 and 1882; an incised form number 6105 indicates a production year for 1900.
