٢٦١ The example of those who spend their wealth in the cause of Allah is that of a grain that sprouts into seven ears, each bearing one hundred grains. And Allah multiplies ˹the reward even more˺ to whoever He wills. For Allah is All-Bountiful, All-Knowing. Allah giveth manifold increase to whom He pleaseth: And Allah careth for all and He knoweth all things. Abul Ala Maududi Those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah and then do not follow up what they have spent with reminders [of it] or [other] injury will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. 2:263 قَوْلٌ مَّعْرُوفٌ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّن صَدَقَةٍ يَتْبَعُهَآ أَذًى وَٱللَّهُ غَنِىٌّ حَلِيمٌ And know that Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. 263. Kind words and forgiving of faults are better than Sadaqah (charity) followed by injury.
