He is well known internationally as the creator of the Kodály method of music education. The International Kodály Society Symposium will be held at the Colburn School from July 31 - August 4, 2023. This Symposium celebrates the "Golden Anniversary: Connecting Humanity through Music," and will feature world-class performers and ensembles representing artistic excellence in the USA.
This Symposium celebrated 50 years of support for the International Kodály Society, which is active in 34 countries and has Affiliated National Organizations in 16 countries. NCAKE was proud to contribute, and found this Symposium particularly meaningful given the origin of the first Symposium at Holy Names University (then College) in 1973. The International Kodály Society offers a number of fee waiver scholarships, (which are different than the Sarolta Kodály Scholarship Iand announced by the International Kodály Society and are designated for a "one year Academic study" at the Zoltán Kodály Pedagogical Institute in Kecskemét, Hungary).
