Izumi Akazawa is the main antagonist in the anime/manga series Another. She is the head of countermeasures for class 3-3, who takes steps to prevent the Curse from killing students of her class by any means necessary. Unfortunately, this eventually leads to her attempting to kill the heroine Mei Misaki. Kouichi and the girls look for Takako. Izumi finds her friend in the hallway, only to realize Takako has already checked out. Izumi watches in shock as her two best friends, Takako Sugiura Kouichi Sakakibara, fight. Izumi reacts in horror to Takako's demented rant. Izumi proves she has the worst sense of timing in human history.
