Kaiji. Akagi's personality is intriguing and how level headed and eerily calm he is. It revolves around one game generally, which is immersive initially but one tires eventually. But Kaiji represents so much desire, suffering, longing and everything that is human. Kaiji the anime does an especially good job with this, and in fact, the entire anime is an enjoyable experience that avoids all the mistakes of Akagi.
