Pell's fake out death remains as an one of my least favorite moments in the the series. It completely takes away all drama from the bomb plot cause it is supposed to be a big threat that will kill everyone yet pell can tank it at point blank range and be fine… very similar to the ending of the Dark Knight Rises I might add. Pell's survival has been a point of contention for years. Its not feasible a bomb meant to eradicate a city couldn't kill a single man. But its not the first time in One Piece a character survived a point blank explosion. Igram did it too earlier in the same arc. Maybe Crocodile just had bad bombs. Well that's exactly what I think happened.
