The Book of Prayer Narrated Ibn 'Abbas (RA): The Prophet (ﷺ) used to say between the two prostrations: "Allahumma ighfir li, warhamni, wahdini, wa 'afini, warzuqni (O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, grant me health and well-being, and provide sustenance for me)." The Prophet (SAW) used to say between the two prostrations: "Allahumma ighfir li, warhamni, wahdini, wa 'afini, warzuqni (O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, grant me health and well-being, and provide sustenance for me)." [Reported by al-Arba'a except An-Nasa'i, and this is the wording of Abu Dawud.
Daily Azkar Islamic Post Allahummaghfir li, warhamni, wa 'afini, warzuqni
Rabbighfirli warhamni wajburni warfa'kni warzuqni wahdini wa'afini. The addition, waafini asks Allah to Strengthen me or grant me well being. There is also a variation of the Rabbighfirli dua which asks Allah to forgive our parents, ourselves, and the entire Ummah. Whenever a man entered the fold of Islam, the Prophet (PBUH) would show him how to perform Salat and then direct him to supplicate: "Allahumm-aghfir li, warhamni, wa-hdini, wa 'afini, warzuqni (O Allah! Forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, guard me against harm and provide me with sustenance and salvation)."' [Muslim]. According to the above explanation and facts, we are inclined towards the opinion that it is permissible to recite the supplication wa`afini (وَعَافِنِي) and wa`fu `anni (وَاعْفُ عَنِّي) in the supplication during the sit in between the two prostrations, for first it is a sabit recitation in the sunnah of Rasullullah PBUH. With regard to the du`a between the two prostrations, the best option is to combine all the reports and say all the phrases, of which there are seven: "Allahumma ighfir li warhamni wa 'afini wajburni warfa'ni wahdini warzuqni."
