PATIENT SAFETY Scoop.it
Speak up for the safety of your care! Speak up for patient safety! Today is World Patient Safety Day. No one should be harmed in health care. And yet, every day, thousands of patients suffer avoidable harm while receiving care. If you are a doctor, nurse, pharmacist or health worker, engage patients as partners in their care. Patient Safety Awareness Week, an annual recognition event that occurs in March, is intended to encourage everyone to learn more about health care safety. During this week, IHI seeks to advance important discussions locally and globally, and inspire action to improve the safety of the health care system — for patients and the workforce. Below are some ideas and tips for planning your World Patient Safety Day campaign this year. These are the proposed options only, while we encourage creativity and innovative ideas, particularly if you are unable to plan in person events within the COVID-19 pandemic context.
