Il castello di Castagneto ha una superficie di 1500 metri quadrati ed è composto da 40 stanze. All'esterno il castello è circondato da un parco di 144 ettari, in cui sono presenti alberi secolari, orti, frutteti, ampie terrazze coltivate a fiori, antiche serre, cascine e una pista per l'atterraggio di elicotteri. Castagneto Po ( Casgné in piemontese, anticamente Castanetum ad Padum, successivamente Castagnetto fino al 1877, poi Castagneto a cui, dal 1913, venne aggiunto Po) è un comune italiano di 1 795 abitanti della città metropolitana di Torino in Piemonte .

Nel 1227 il castello di Castagneto Po fu concesso come investitura, insieme a Casalborgone e a Chivasso, ai marchesi del Monferrato. Dal XIII secolo il controllo della regione passò ai Principi d'Acaja, fatto che diede luogo a feroci attacchi da parte dei marchesi del Monferrato.
