The Inheritance Cycle is a tetralogy of young adult high fantasy novels written by American author Christopher Paolini. Set in the fictional world of Alagaësia ( / æləˈɡeɪziə / ), the novels focus on the adventures of a teenage boy named Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, as they struggle to overthrow the evil king Galbatorix. Arya made the decision to become an ambassador for the elf nation in 7929 AC. r/Eragon • 6 min. ago FILMSTUDENT25 SPOILER Tweaking the Romance between Eragon and Arya Discussion Chris managed to write compelling Romances for Roran and Katrina, even Murtagh and Nasuada. Yet, one of my main criticisms of the books is the romance between Eragon and Arya. How do we fix this? Arya needs Eragon to be focused on defeating Galbatorix and not on romantic pursuits, especially with the fate of the entire continent on his shoulders. The age gap between the two also brings into light the gaps between their levels of maturity. Arya believed that as a human, Eragon would just as easily fall in love with someone else than with.
