The Mk6 Volkswagen Golf GTI, introduced in 2010, marked a significant milestone in the history of this iconic hot hatchback. Building upon the success of its predecessors, the Mk6 GTI continued to blend practicality with sporty performance, offering enthusiasts the perfect combination of style, speed, and versatility. The MK6 GTI wasn't much more than a facelift from the MK5. But, the MK5 was a generation that really redeemed what the GTI set out to be in the first place; THE hot hatch. The MK6 came equipped with a 2.0l turbocharged engine and 6-speed transmission. Also optional was Volkswagen's silky smooth and lightning quick DSG transmission. This allows the tuner to adjust and determine boost, load, AFR, ignition timing, fuel flow, etc. Basically, an MK6 flash tune has full control over the various parameters. This allows for very precise tuning. We don't want to get too technical so we'll leave it at that. However, we should differentiate one last thing. We highly recommend running 1-step colder spark plugs if you plan on tuning your MK6 GTI and increasing boost levels. 1-step colder spark plugs burn cooler than OEM spark plugs which keeps engine temperatures lower and prevents pre-detonation, engine misfires, or knocks.
