Home Assistant Ring Doorbell Live View
This video shows how to set up Ring integration in Home Assistant. I'll go over each step with you. You may use this to monitor the battery life of your Ring. Can someone help me understand how to get a live view of the Ring Doorbell camera in Home Assistant? I don't need it to be constantly streaming, but I'd like to be able to, for example, click the Ring Doorbell card in my dashboard and have it pull up a live stream (like how you can do within the Ring app itself). 1.) Install MQTT as an add-on and also as an integration. Set to use local host. No configuration.yaml settings. Seems to be in separate config file now. Adding MQTT section to configuration.yaml results in HA booting to safe mode. 2.) Added Ring as an add-on w/ added github repository shown below and also as integration item. bkr1969 (Brian) September 28, 2021, 9:56pm 1 Not sure if I should post here or GitHub, but I'm starting to wonder what good the Ring integration is in HA. When there is motion detected, my Echo Show can bring up a live view of the (doorbell) camera so I can see who is at the door. This is, I believe, the main reason to have a Ring doorbell.

Ring is the dominant player in smart doorbells these days. Unfortunately, after promising Homekit support more. Yes it is possible to setup ring with home assistant. Ring can be setup to work with home assistant via the Ring-MQTT add-on and the MQTT (mosquitto) broker. You can get livestreams from your doorbell, but tbh the real issue with Ring is that its not constant recording.

Hardware djmalaka (Malaka) August 20, 2023, 9:32pm 1 Hi all, I am trying to get my ring doorbell's video feed to appear on my dashboard, but I can't seem to find it on HA. All other attributes of the ring doorbell (ie: dings, motion detection, activity, battery percentage etc.) do appear on HA, except the video feed. A few weeks ago I installed the Ring Alarm and wrote a post about it.Towards the end, noted that I wanted to integrate it with Home Assistant. Unfortunately, native integration isn't there yet, but the good news, at least for those running Hass.io, is that there is a Hass.io addon that will integrate all Ring devices via MQTT.
