The Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair, while expensive as a new purchase, is quite affordable second hand and maintains its resale once your children outgrow it. It is also made from beech wood without much plastic which means that this is begging for more IKEA hacks! The Stokke Tripp Trapp aids good posture better than any other highchair Arlo has tried in the past 12 months of eating in pubs, restaurants and at friends' houses. Try as he might, there is no chance that he can slump in that chair. For that reason, I am so glad that it's the chair he uses every day. So I'm thinking about the IKEA high chair instead. Anyone have advice or had both at one point? Is the Tripp Trapp really worth it to go into the red in our budget haha? That's genius. I just got the Stokke CLIKK! I did a ton of research and basically found that the Tripp Trapp and IKEA Antilop were the most popular/recommended but the Tripp Trapp is ridiculously expensive and IMO fugly as hell, and the Antilop required too many accessories and modifications to be the ideal chair. In any case, we just had our second baby and were considering getting a second chair for her. Thanks for posting this though, because we are now going to look into the Ikea alternative. The Tripp Trapp with baby kit, cover and tray cost us about $500 + taxes. I'm thinking I can sell it on Kijiji for $250-300, buy the 2 new chairs and make.
