Everyone is fighting their way north to help Aelin rid the world of the two foes who have been plaguing them for far too long. The story obviously culminates in the big showdown for which we've all been waiting. What was even the point, just like you said. The part of the book that gives me the most chills is when Rowan goes back into the tent to repay Cairn for what he did to Aelin. It was somehow more intense than if SJM had written out the scene. Fenrys saving Aelin and overcoming the blood oath was so incredibly emotional.
