The Lancia Rally (Tipo 151, also known as the Lancia Rally 037, Lancia 037 or Lancia-Abarth #037 from its Abarth project code SE037) was a mid-engine sports car and rally car built by Lancia in the early 1980s to compete in the FIA Group B World Rally Championship. The car won Lancia the manufacturers' world championship in the 1983 season. Officially homologated on April 1st 1982, the Rallye 037 is considered as the very first top class rally car built entirely to exploit the new Group B specifications. The car entered WRC competition at the 1982 Tour de Corse where Markku Alèn finished 9th. The Lancia Rally 037 has remained a fan favourite decades after it was surpassed by its all-wheel drive brethren. When one of the original homologation 037 Stradale cars comes up for sale it always garners signifiant attention, just 207 were built in total and most are either in museums or locked away in private collections. The 037 is only one of the eighteen Lancia's that Pininfarina has blessed with its beautiful design work over the years. In the United States, the 037 just recently began to gain some attention. However, in Europe, they are viewed as the Italian god-like cars they were meant to be.

The Abarth and Pininfarina -designed 037 won the 1983 FIA Group B World Rally title, and was the last rear-drive car to win in the WRC. Kimera calls its Evo37 a "tribute to those legendary cars. The Lancia Rally was a mid-engine rally car built by Lancia in. Check out this compilation i made for one of my favorite rally car ever the Lancia 037 Rally. The resultant Lancia 037 Rally was officially homologated on April 1st 1982. Although more highly developed Evolution variants were permitted for competition use (so long as 20 Evolutions had been built), Lancia originally began to compete with lightly modified versions of the road-going 037. These cars would be used for the first four months. Thanks to the Rally 037 and other Lancia rally cars that preceded it, the brand still has the most WRC Constructors' Championship wins. It has a total of ten, spanning from 1974 to 1992. The 037 Rally though made its debut in the championship in the 1982 Rally Costa Smeraldo, in Italy. Lancia entered two cars, but both retired thanks to gearbox issues. This would go on to be the story of the season for Lancia as the 037 would be plagued by multiple retirements. The car did show a lot of promise however, taking plenty of stage.

The Lancia Rally 037 is one of the most exciting automobiles ever assembled for use in rally racing. The styling was absolutely bonkers, and its performance was especially lively given its supercharged 2.0-liter engine, light weight and rear-wheel-drive orientation. The road-legal Evo37 is based on Lancia's fearsome mid-engined World Rally Championship (WRC) contender, which is remembered for being the final rear-driven car to win the top-flight series.
