Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial ( Dutch: Amerikaanse Begraafplaats Margraten) is a Second World War military war grave cemetery, located in the village of Margraten, 10 km (6.2 mi) east of Maastricht, in the most southern part of the Netherlands. The American War Cemetery and Memorial in Margraten is the sole U.S. war cemetery in the Netherlands. The cemetery is the final resting place of 8,288 U.S. WWII soldiers, of whom many died during Operation Market Garden in September 1944 or during the Allied push into Nazi-Germany.

Margraten, the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, is the only American military cemetery in the Netherlands. The U.S. 30th Infantry Division liberated this site on 13 September 1944 and 8301 American military rest here. Today, the Foundation for Adopting Graves at the American Cemetery Margraten manages this program. With a similar intention the Foundation United Adopters American War Graves created a program known as The Faces of Margraten. This group collects photos of our fallen, and sponsors a bi-annual event at the cemetery during Dutch Memorial Day weekend. The American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) dedicated its newest visitor center at Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands, this Monday, Dec. 11, 2023. Officially opening to the public Dec. 12, 2023, this visitor center is the 10th visitor center created by ABMC since 2007. The Foundation for Adopting Graves at the American Cemetery in Margraten offers the opportunity of adopting a grave of a fallen liberator or a name on the Walls of the Missing. The foundation also maintains the so-called Adoption Register, an extensive database with information about adopters and the graves they've adopted.
