It's a very tasty pasta recipe made with simple ingredients such as sardines, wild fennel, raisins and breadcrumbs. Sardines are a typical "blue fish" that is very common in the Mediterranean sea and in Sicily in particular. Wipe out the pan. In the same pan, heat the remaining 1/4 cup oil over moderately high heat. Add the fennel and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden, 5 to 10 minutes. Add the garlic and cook. Add the reserved caramelized fennel. Drain the raisins thoroughly and add as well. Also add the wine with the saffron.
