Due to his pioneering innovation, he succeeded whereas others failed by establishing a unique irrigation system still in use by the park today. Slide Rock State Park is a 43-acre apple farm with a rich history, located in Oak Creek Canyon. It is one of the few homesteads still standing in the canyon and represents a deep past of agriculture in Central Arizona. There are historic cabins to view, and the creek has a fun slide for the more adventurous visitors.
