Chinese Spare Ribs is a classic Chinese take-out dish we all love to eat, but few people attempt to cook by themselves. It can seem a bit too intimidating for those without experience cooking Asian food. The good news is besides using a few unfamiliar ingredients, Chinese Spare Ribs are just Chinese BBQ ribs. Our copycat recipe is a mix of honey, brown sugar, Hoison sauce, 5-spice powder, oil, sherry, and tomato paste, plus some corn starch to thicken your Copycat Ah-So Sauce and red food coloring to give it that distinctive bright color. Line a sheet pan or roasting pan with heavy duty foil (for quick clean-up) and place a metal rack on top. Place the boneless pork on the metal rack, leaving at least 1 inch of room between the pieces. Pour ½ cup of hot water on the bottom of the pan, and transfer to the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Steps: Unwrap the meat on a cutting board, the pork is only cut halfway through in thick slices. Cut through each thick slice and then cut each thick slice into 4 thin slices. Place a handful of strips into a baggie, dividing them up among four bags. Put about a 1/2 pound per bag. With your hands spread out the strips and lay them flat.

Step 5 -Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high 4-5 hours. Step 6 - Place the riblets onto a foil lined baking sheet and brush sauce over each one and broil.
