Xigia is a complex of 3 beaches, as can be seen from the image above, and is located on the northeastern coast of Zakynthos Island. Xigia's most unique feature is the milky color of the sea, due to the presence of sulphurous springs flowing from nearby karst marine caves. Xigia Beach is located in the Koroni region on the northeastern coast of Zakynthos Island in the Ionian Sea of Greece . Xigia Beach is easiest to reach by car, and I recommend renting a car while you're in Zakynthos Island because there are plenty of things to do in Zakynthos that require transport.

Little Xigia is a small, picturesque beach on the east coast of Zakynthos, just north of Alykes. It's around 25km from the capital Zakynthos Town and that would usually take about 40 minutes in the car. The beach is made up of stones rather than sand, has rocks around the waters edge and larger boulders just off shore, some of which are good. Gerakas beach Stretching across a large swathe of golden-white sand, Gerakas is as long as it is pretty. It sits inside a large cove with shallow, blue waters making it a great choice for families with kids. It's also great for the endangered loggerhead turtles who nest here during the summer months (as they do on many of Zante's beaches). Xigia (Xygia) is located in a tiny cove on the northeast coast of Zakynthos, between Alykes and Agios Nikolaos port. The road passes above it but the beach is not visible until you take the turn for it. Xigia has smooth white pebbles instead of sand and transparent blue water which quickly gets deep.
