Eretto in epoca medievale, nel XIII secolo, il Castel Dragone, denominato anche Castello della Dragonara, definizione popolare derivante dal termine "Dragonaria" che significa "vortice d'aria di tempesta" per indicare la particolare posizione a picco sul mare spesso esposta a mareggiate e tempeste, sovrasta la parte più estrema di Camogli regalando scorci meravigliosi.
